Job Summary: The Fundraising Manager will lead and manage all fundraising activities to secure financial resources for our digital empowerment programs in Africa. This role plays a critical part in sustaining and expanding our initiatives, ensuring that we can reach more children and make a lasting impact. The Fundraising Manager will develop and execute effective fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, and oversee grant applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fundraising Strategy:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
    • Identify new fundraising opportunities and trends to diversify funding sources.
  2. Donor Engagement:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and government agencies.
    • Communicate the organization’s impact and funding needs to donors effectively.
  3. Grant Writing and Management:
    • Research and identify potential grant opportunities.
    • Prepare grant proposals and applications, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
    • Oversee the grant management process, including reporting and compliance.
  4. Fundraising Events and Campaigns:
    • Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns, both online and offline.
    • Mobilize volunteers and staff for successful event implementation.
  5. Budget and Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the fundraising budget, tracking expenditures and revenue.
    • Ensure transparent and accountable financial practices.
  6. Stewardship and Recognition:
    • Acknowledge and recognize donors’ contributions through thank-you letters, reports, and events.
    • Create and maintain a donor recognition program.
  7. Data Management:
    • Maintain accurate donor records and fundraising data.
    • Analyze fundraising performance and make data-driven decisions.
  8. Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the marketing and communications team to align messaging and outreach strategies.
    • Collaborate with the program team to understand funding needs and program impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, including individual giving, grant writing, and event planning.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles, donor cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using fundraising software and databases.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
  • Proficiency in English is an advantage.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
