Job Summary: The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of educational content and programs aimed at empowering children in Africa with digital technology. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that our initiatives provide quality and relevant learning experiences. The Education Coordinator will work closely with the program team to promote digital literacy and skills development among children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development:
    • Design and adapt digital education curricula that align with the organization’s goals and the needs of the target audience.
    • Ensure curriculum materials are culturally relevant, age-appropriate, and accessible.
  2. Program Implementation:
    • Oversee the delivery of educational programs, including teacher training and support.
    • Monitor program activities to ensure they meet established educational objectives.
    • Collaborate with program staff to address challenges and make program improvements.
  3. Resource Development:
    • Create and curate digital educational resources, including online courses, lesson plans, and learning materials.
    • Source and adapt content to enhance the learning experience of children.
  4. Teacher Training and Support:
    • Develop and conduct training sessions for educators and facilitators involved in the programs.
    • Provide ongoing support and mentoring to ensure effective implementation.
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Establish evaluation metrics and assessment tools to measure the impact and effectiveness of educational programs.
    • Analyze data and feedback to continuously improve program quality.
  6. Community Engagement:
    • Collaborate with community leaders and parents to promote the importance of digital education.
    • Ensure the involvement of local communities in program planning and activities.
  7. Partnership Collaboration:
    • Work closely with local schools, educational institutions, and partner organizations to enhance educational opportunities.
    • Coordinate joint initiatives to maximize impact and resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in educational program development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of digital technology and its integration into education.
  • Strong curriculum design and assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
  • Proficiency in English is an advantage.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
