Job Summary: The Community Outreach Coordinator will play a vital role in building and strengthening relationships with local communities, schools, and partners to support our digital empowerment programs in Africa. This position is responsible for fostering trust, engagement, and collaboration to ensure the success and sustainability of our initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Community Engagement:
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with local community leaders, parents, and beneficiaries.
    • Organize and attend community meetings and events to gather feedback and share program updates.
  2. Needs Assessment:
    • Conduct community needs assessments to identify challenges, opportunities, and areas for program improvement.
    • Collaborate with program teams to adapt initiatives to meet local needs.
  3. Communication and Education:
    • Act as a liaison between the organization and the community, facilitating clear and effective communication.
    • Educate community members about the organization’s mission and the benefits of digital empowerment.
  4. Partnership Development:
    • Identify and collaborate with local organizations, schools, and grassroots initiatives to enhance program reach and impact.
    • Build and maintain strong partnerships to leverage resources and expertise.
  5. Feedback Collection:
    • Gather feedback from community members and beneficiaries to inform program decisions and improvements.
    • Advocate for community voices within the organization.
  6. Cultural Sensitivity:
    • Ensure that programs are culturally sensitive and respectful of local customs, traditions, and values.
    • Promote inclusivity and diversity within program activities.
  7. Advocacy and Awareness:
    • Advocate for the importance of digital education and child empowerment within the community and with local authorities.
    • Raise awareness about the organization’s initiatives through community outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in community engagement and outreach, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in diverse communities.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
  • Proficiency in English is an advantage.
  • Ability to travel within the local community and regionally, as required.
